These days are brought to you by the Sharpham Trust, Totnes, South Devon.

Spend a day walking through the breathtaking grounds of the Sharpham Estate in Devon with Brigit-Anna McNeill. Learning to identify, pick safely and prepare, seasonal wild foods. Re connect to nature through plants and learn to see with new eyes as you taste, touch and begin to understand the edible and medicinal plants that are all around you.

Outline of the day

You will be met at the coach yard carpark at Sharpham.  From there we will head up to the woodland kitchen, our base camp for the day, for an introduction and a cup of wild herbal tea. This is then followed by a 3 hr foraging walk through the grounds of the Sharpham Estate which will take you through woodland, meadows,  fields and river side taking in stunning views and beautiful landscape.  You will be shown how to safely gather and identify wild food using sight, taste or feel whilst also discovering the medicinal uses of the plants and their folklore.

We will harvest along the way and take back our finds to cook in our sheltered woodland kitchen. The finale is a delicious feast which we will prepare together and eat around the banquet table or under the canvas shelter with a roaring fire at its centre. We will close with a lovely wild cup of something and any final questions you may have.
